Do Not Let Him Go

In The Book Song of Solomon, Chapter 3:1-4

It begins with a woman at night longing for her lover who is gone. Unsure why, she is determined to find Him.  After searching within her house, she was unsuccessful. She then went to the streets in the city hoping to find Him. She approached the watchman, whose duty was to look out for the people and protect them from outside dangers. The watchman that day happened to see her lover, and she was directed towards the place where He was last seen. At last, when she did find Him, she held onto Him and would not let Him go until He came into her mother’s house.

After she found her lover, it was not going to be meaningful if she had kept Him to herself. That is the reason why she was anxious to bring Him to her mother, and so that she would too desire to have such a One within her life. My friend, that special Man is Jesus. Do you have Him? Do you desire Him, or is He still absent in your life?

Does your soul long for Him, or does it long for something else? What a terrible state to be in, but I know that if you did not desire Christ, you would not have come here. You are here because you want Him, and He desires you.

Read carefully these words of Charles Spurgeon, “If Christ causes you to long after Him, He will certainly satisfy those longings.”

It is God that has placed those desires after Christ within your heart, and He will satisfy them. (John 6:37 & 44)

Do not be discouraged to give up after you have tried and tried but with no success.  Instead, tell yourself, “He delays giving me the sense of His presence so that, when I do find Him, I will appreciate Him better than I ever.” That is right, the difficulty in your life is no sign of your unworthiness, but rather a proof, that you not spiritually dead and senseless to what you need.
