Finding God Again: Step Four - Remain

Once Christian was inside, Mr. Good-will smiled and said,

We do not reject anyone from entering here, in spite of all they have done before entering.”

Mr. Good-will was echoing from John 6:37 that reads,

“All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.”

Jesus will never cast out the one who comes to Him. However, when we do not come to Him, He takes offence as though He did something wrong.

In Isaiah 1:21, God asked,

“How is the faithful city become an harlot!”

Jerusalem, the city God did everything He could to save from falling into corruption

In His question, I also hear Him asking, “how could I have been a better God? What else could I have done to convince you? Where did I go wrong? Show me, so that I may repent?

Nonetheless, God’s appeal to the nation was, “you have played the harlot with many lovers; Yet return to Me,” says the LORD.” Jeremiah 3:1

The fourth step, once we have found the Lord, is to remain in Him.

The sentence in John 6:37, “He that comes.” -The Greek form of the verb implies, a coming that is not done once but is a consistent habit of life.

From this we gather there are people God knows who come to Him yet leave Him. However He receives them again as he did the first time, with the same joy a father has for his newborn baby.

Did you know God never gets tired of receiving you? Neither is his mercy exhausted by your constant request for them.

Nahum 1:3 declares,

“The LORD is slow to anger but great in power;”

God is slow to anger because He has great power.

When you feel the devil trying to rip you from the arms of Jesus, remain.

When your heart fails you, remain.

When you are weak, and your prayers are shallow, remain still.

When the devil whispers to your ear, “you are a pretender and soon you will fall into my hands,” remain at the foot of the cross.

Because God has great power to change you from there.
