Before Christian left the house of Mr. Good-will, he asked if he could help him get rid of his burden.
Mr. Good-will replied,
"As for your burden, be content to bear it until you come to the place of deliverance. There it will fall from your back by itself."

When you remain with Jesus, it does not mean you will be absent from troubles. Sometimes, it will appear your burden is heavier than those who do not believe in God, but still, you must not give into thought that suggests you might never make it.
Christian had all the resources, however still, he had not reached the place of deliverance. That is because although Christian read, he had not believed the promise could be for him.
Did you know you could be a Christian all your life but never have reached the cross?
When you have come to the cross, you believe every promise was penned down specifically for you. Moreover, the contrast between who you were and who you have become is evident like black and white.

I recently confessed to my online Zoom participants, “I have not reached the cross.” But I am closer than I was yesterday because I am progressing towards Him.
The fifth step is not to be discouraged for the changes you do not see.
The devil would not be attacking you if he did not see you making any progress to reach the cross.
John the disciple, who had a more Christ-like character than all the apostles, yet wrote,
“Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him…” 1 John 3:2
It is possible you are not sure of your own salvation, because you do not feel the changes you want. John did not see himself as what he should have been, nonetheless, He persevered believing soon when Christ comes in glory, the chain of doubt will melt off his legs, and he will see himself as God has always seen him because of the blood.
