Have Peace of Mind Tonight

Have you ever been troubled, and wished you never existed? Such was Christian in Pilgrims Progress.

On his way to the cross, where He was told He will have his burden fall off, Christian meets a man by the name of Mr. Wordily-wiseman, who tells him there is a faster way He can get rid of his burden.

Eager to have peace of mind, Christian follows Mr. Wordily-wiseman advise to climb up a hill to the house of Mr Legality, who by works, will show him how to get rid of his burden. Not long, after Christian deviated from the right path, he was filled with regret and sorrow.

Thankfully, Evangelist comes to his rescue and redirects Him, saying, “No one has ever been set free from a burden going to Mr Legality, and never will anyone be.”

That is because Galatians 2:16, says,

“knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but by faith in Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus...”

Here the verse is saying that if salvation were dependent on our own efforts, the truth is, it would not be long before we failed.

To live by faith means that you are continuously in a relationship with Jesus Christ. And with that, there is no way the devil can convince a soul that he is too far gone for the mercies of God to reach them.
