It Does Not Have to End That Way

“But the dove found no resting place for the sole of her foot, and she returned into the ark to him, for the waters were on the face of the whole earth. So he put out his hand and took her and drew her into the ark to himself. ” Genesis 8:9

After the forty days had passed, Noah sent a dove out of the ark, but when it did not find a place to rest its feet, Noah put out his hand and drew her inside the ark.  In verse 11, Noah sent the dove again, and toward the evening the dove returned with an olive leaf in its beak. This return indicated to Noah that the water had subsided.

It is not always possible that when we wake, we have our best connection with God; perhaps because we are disturbed, rushing, or do not know how to. But let us be like the dove, who after going to and fro throughout the earth, returned to God at evening and was received into the ark.

The verse says, Noah 'drew,' the dove. Did you know that if God did not cause your heart to beat after Him, you could go days, weeks and months without reading the Bible, praying and, even going to church (Joh 6: 44), but because you feel the urgency to reconnect with Him, it is a sign you are responding to the cords of love which He is pulling you with (Jeremiah 31:3).

Therefore, If you did not start your morning right with God, it does not have to end that way this evening. Return to God now, and He will draw you inside His ark of mercy.
