Power Comes From Movement

I drive a manual car and there have been times, when my battery died and I needed someone to push it so it can self-recharge. Unlike an automatic vehicle that requires the power from another car to jump start, mine can do it by itself.

I remember a time after having gone for a few days, I returned to find my car lights were left on. This drained the battery power. A friend who came to my assistance, reminded me once we get the vehicle moving, you must keep driving for a minimum twenty minutes for the battery to recharge.

Are you in need of power? Does your spiritual life look like the Sahara Desert? Are you unresponsive like a dead man to the word of God?

The answer is you’re not moving. A manual car with a drained battery gains more power by moving.

The other day I said to myself, since the devil does not give me rest, I neither will give him any.

Ephesians 6:11 says,

“Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.”

The text does not suggest you choose what you put on, if you dare hope to stand against the devil.

Verse 15 says, “And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;”

The footwear in the armour of God represents readiness to share the words of Jesus to others. No one puts on shoes to sleep, that would be silly. Anytime we put on shoes it is because we are going somewhere, therefore, those who cooperate with God and gain an advantage over the devil is because they are active in sharing the gospel of peace to others.

It is harder to shoot a moving target than one that is still. So too, it is easier for the devil to shoot us down if we are inactive for Christ.

Be busy, and you cause the devil to miss his shot.

You Ask How?

Be intentional in your interaction. You may not have the opportunity to go on a pulpit, however the person nearest to you is your God-placed audience. It is possible, you may lack confidence and feel you have nothing to offer, do not be discouraged by this, until God place someone in your path, be content where you are, and ensure that you are allowing God to fill you, so that He may soon send you out.
